If you use Studio with Google Chrome or with Microsoft Edge, you have two different options for creating your recording. If you want to add text or arrows or edit your video then we suggest that you record your video with Screencast-o-matic. See the M2.7 Recording with Screen Recorder (Screencast-o-Matic) page for instructions.

Text guide

If you want to make a simple screen recording, where you don't need to edit or add arrows, text boxes, or anything else, then we recommend that you use the option Studio Capture via Create.

Open Studio from the global menu. Click Create, and then select Studio Capture. This gives you quick access to recording using your webcam only or webcam and screen recording. You will first enable Screen Recording feature.
When you click on the arrow next to Screen recording (1), you can enable the function for screen recording (2). This image shows the settings for recording the screen but not recording the presenter.

Choose what from different options for what you are going to record

Once you have enabled screen recording, you will be asked to select what you want to capture on the screen. You are presented with the following options. However remember that you need to select "Full Screen" if you want to record a video with both your webcam and your screen.

Please note that the language shown in this window depends on the language settings of your browser which is why we are giving you the Swedish version as well since our image shows the Swedish text).

Chrome/Edge tabs (Chrome-flik): This means that you are selecting a tab you have running in the browser you to record. This can be tricky because tabs hide each other and you have to navigate between the tabs to find the one being recorded. You cannot record your webcam with this option.
Windows (Fönster). This means that you select a program/app you have running on your computer. For example, if you have a PowerPoint or other program that you want to record, you would select this program. You cannot record your webcam with this option..
Full screen (Helskärm). This option records everything that is active on your screen. If you need to record several windows and programs and navigate between them then this is the best choice. This is also the easiest way to make a screen recording because you don't have navigate hidden tabs! This is also the only option if you want to record yourself using the webcam in your screen recording.
