If you want other teachers (or students!) at Karolinska Institutet to be able to use videos that are in your library in their courses, you can share either a single video, or an entire collection of them.

Important information about sharing in Canvas Studio

When you want to share videos or collections in Canva Studio with a colleague, it's important to know the following:

In order to assign or share media with a specific person, that person must first have opened Canvas Studio by logging into the system via Canvas, for example clicking the Studio icon in the global menu. This authenticates the user, ensuring that you can search for them and add them to your videos or groups.

If you can't find the person in the drop-down list when you try to share media:

Make sure that the person has logged in and opened Canvas Studio at least once.
Ask the person to navigate to Studio via the left main menu of their Canvas interface.

How do you share a video or collection?

Click on the three dots (1) in the bottom right corner of the video and select Share (2) from video menu.

To share a collection, open the collection and look for the three dot menu under your name and then select Share collection (3) from the menu.

Sharing media

You choose Share media or Share collection as the option.

Once the next window opens, you can start typing in names or email addresses of the person you want to add. Decide whether they can only use (view) the videos in their courses, or edit (Edit). You will need to give editing rights if you want them to help with captioning.

People you share with will receive an email letting them know that they've been given access to the media.

Copy shared video to your library

To copy a video from a shared collection to your library, click on the video and select Copy to My Library from the menu. You will only see this option if your are viewing the menu of a shared video (not one of your own videos),
