You can publish media that other people have shared with you anywhere you have access to a text editor in Canvas (e.g. pages, assignments, discussion boards and announcements).

Do the following

Open the page, task, etc. where you want to publish the video.

In the editing window, place the cursor where the video will appear in a page, assignment, or discussion. Then click on the Studio icon.

Select My Library when the Studio Tile opens, then select Shared with me. You can find "shared with me" via the dropdown menu to the right of My Library.

In the next box, you will see all the videos that are shared with you. Select the video you want to publish, or open a collection, and then select a video from the collection. Set whether or not to allow comments and downloads, then click the Embed button (or Choose a different video, if you want to change your choice).

NB! Don't forget that you must then also save the page, assignment or discussion in Canvas - otherwise nothing of what you have done will be saved!

Good to know about the settings for the player

Students (and anyone who sees the page in Canvas) have the option to make certain settings in the embedded player.

You can make settings on whether the captions should be at the top or bottom of the player. You can choose the speed of the video display.
You can "toggle" the display of captions i.e. choose whether you want to see the subtitles or not.
