Messaging Students For Good Work

In this video (1.35min) from the channel Angie Teaches on Youtube Angie shows you how to send students a message in Canvas through the grades tab based on assignment performance. A fun way to reach out to students who are doing well! It also gives your students an opportunity to write back to you with a question or comment therefore creating an opportunity for dialogue.

Creating Announcements with Canvas

Make your students feel welcome using the announcement tool. Here Ashlee Espinosa in this video (7.34 min) shows you how to create announcements but also gives you examples of how to use these announcements. This Canvas online tutorial video explains how to use and create announcements. This is another great way to communicate with your students as a group rather than using the message inbox. It also takes you through examples and options for various methods that might work for your class or inspire your online teaching methods.
