The aim of this module is to discuss the course with your facilitator, find out about your tandem partner and to discuss constructive alignment.

Before your first online meeting via zoom, you must read 2 short articles and 2 short videos.

Look at what is expected of your discussion with your facilitator.
Read these 2 articles:

Use these conversation starters to get you going:
1. First, get to know your tandem partner better:
  1. Where are you local? What is your background?
  2. What is your discipline? What is your field of research?
  3. How long have you been teaching for?
2. Next, reflect on the use of constructive alignment:
  1. Do you agree, or disagree, that constructive alignment is the solution to good curriculum design?
  2. Do you agree, or disagree, with John Biggs's levels of teaching competence? Where do you situate your own level of competence?
  3. Can you think of one instance of your teaching where you have achieved constructive alignment? If so, describe how you have aligned ILOs, with TLAs and assessment methods. If not, discuss how you could better align your course through ILOs, TLAs and assessment methods.
Make notes of your personal reflections (250 words maximum) on the next page by 27th January.
Review the personal reflections of 2 other participants between 28th January and 31st January. They will be assigned to you by Canvas automatically.
